Visit the Nesque Gorge (Gorges de la Nesque) and Vaucluse mounts
The Nesque is a small river with Mediterranean regime,
often dry in summer. It bypasses the Mont Ventoux in the south-east and
cut deeply into the Vaucluse Plateau between the villages of Monieux and
Méthamis. The scenery is spectacular, forming a canyon, bordered
by a scenic route dotted with tunnels and lookouts, the road from Villes-sur-Auzon
and joined Monieux. The lookout at the Castellas is the highest point
on the landscape and the "Rock of Wax" is one of the most spectacular
of Provence.
