Visit Provençal Drôme
South of the Drôme department, the Drôme is part of the Rhône-Alpes
region and historically belongs to the Dauphine. However, the Drôme
Provençale is sufficiently influenced by the Mediterranean climate
and culture so that we can include it with no hesitation in the Provence,
at least in its touristic sense. Villages of the Rhone Valley to Baronnies
have nothing to envy to the villages of the Luberon and the Haut-Var:
La Garde Adhemar, or Grignan in the Rhone Valley, Montbrun les Bains in
the Mont Ventoux, The Poet-Laval middle of lavender, Grignan and its castle,
Suze la Rousse are magical places to discover and enjoy. Drôme Provençale
has an exceptional terroir: Growing grapes in the Rhone valley, the hills
are a Tricastin AOC, Nyons olives are famous, lime Baronnies, lavender,
apricots, truffles, goat cheese picodon.
