Anduze is located in the Gard department, this town of 3300 inhabitants is considered the gateway to the Cévennes mountains. The river "Gardon of Anduze," runs in the bottom of a gorge, giving the town of Anduze built on the side of the rock a Saint-Julien spectacular. Anduze was a stronghold of Protestantism. The main tourist attractions are the Anduze bamboo plantation, park unique in Europe, the Cevennes steam train that goes to St. Jean du Gard, and the Museum of the Desert (at Mialet - 15 minutes from Anduze) that tells the story of the persecuted Protestants. The region is a priest to hiking and mountain biking, and swimming in the Gardon during summer.
